The Cast

More about our exciting cast soon...

craig annis image

Craig Annis began performing after his sister entered an elevator and never came back... his parents think lettuce and vegemite is a suitable sandwhich filler for any child undergoing 13 years of schooling.

Craig believes in yellow.

Chelsea Bruland was chucked into the deep end when her first film role was as one of the lead characters, Samantha, in the feature film Selkie when she was 16. Later that year she was cast as the bitchy Canadian chick in the kids TV series The Adventures of Chuck Finn which ran for 2 years on Channel 7. Her latest work has been in the role of Jessica Carter in the first 4 seasons of McLeods Daughters.

Having moved to Melbourne a couple of years ago, she continues her 'day job' of producing and freelance production managing TVC's and Music Videos. She runs the production company Curvaceous Films and was funded by the Australian Film Commission earlier this year for a short film Ingrid Sits Holding a Knife, which is a black comedy set in post apocalyptic Melbourne.

With an interest for flight, speed and adrenalin, Chelsea is also a stunt performer and was last seen being hit by a car in the latest TAC Wipe Off 5 campaign.

But she's recovered from that unfortunate incident, and is playing the role of Bec in The Community.

davina macdonell

Davina Macdonell is new to acting but not to media, working as a freelance journalist for seven years she's often dealt with the slapdash attitude of management that her character Penny displays. It has however offered her some fantastic opportunities, including recently interviewing Guy Sebastian, who she claims is the so nice he's got to be some kind of nice-bot!

Michael Oliver recently graduated from RMIT's Masters of Creative Media in Screenwriting and is currently working on the second draft of his first feature 'Beneath the Cover of Night'. A vampire film which he hopes will not join the thousands of other shit vampire films that have been made.

Michael is currently employed by Federation Square and works extremely hard on his two days a month, in which he is acutally there. Aside from this, he spends his time drinking booze and playing cricket where he hopes to become the next Shane Warne by taking at least one wicket and sleeping with thousands of women.

But Michael has put this dream on hold for a while at least to play the role of Pete in The Community.

kristin sargent photo Kristin Sargent is one of the youngest members of the cast but she's already had a world of experience. She's acted in Neighbours as well as doing courses at AFTRS, The Rehearsal room and the Melbourne Acting Studio.
marcus jones photo Marcus Jones has been producing, directing and acting in theatre productions for more than 20 years, with roles including “Oscar” in The Odd Couple, “Proctor” in The Crucible and “Billy Bibbit” in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. He plays Bob Franklin’s thug bouncer “Charlie” in Jimeoin’s 2005 feature film The Extra and also Nicolas Cage’s “Team Blaze” mechanic in Ghost Rider, due for release Feb 2007. Marcus has also appeared in various sketches on the Nine Network’s Comedy Inc and hosted a weekly Sports & Mutterings segment on Melbourne radio 3AK (2002-3).

Marcus has been doing stand-up comedy for four years, including gigs in Edinburgh, Los Angeles, New York and New Zealand, and over 100 gigs opening for Jimeoin on three national tours, which he also produced and tour managed. Marcus currently produces and hosts Hoodwinked, a live game-show played by a rotating panel of comedians. Hoodwinked enjoyed critical and box office success at the 2006 Adelaide Fringe and Melbourne Comedy Festivals and is performing at The Famous Spiegeltent in December, before returning to both festivals in 2007. (www.hoodwinked.com.au).

Marcus has previously worked as an artist (music) manager, a marketing consultant, graphic designer, copywriter, IT project manager, plain-clothes store detective and an Advertising Agency Account Manager, although he feels his soul has fully recovered from the latter.

Apart from providing the opportunity to have a crack at growing a real porn-star moustache, the role of “Dave” instantly appealed to Marcus as the character has plenty of scope to make those around him curl their toes uncomfortably as he smooth-talks everyone he touches (literally). ”The awkward moments in The Office, Fawlty Towers and Frontline are some of the funniest I’ve ever seen on television, so I’m really looking forward to making people cringe and laugh at the same time” said Marcus.

angus brown

Angus Brown is writing this at gunpoint after being abducted by Ant and Trev two years ago and forced to be their monkey butler, when they decided to make this show they told him he could play a character or quote "ride the lightning" Angus said he would love to be Bec, the lads thought he was better suited to Greg, who he now is.

Angus thinks you look good in leather.

nathan farrugia photo Nathan M Farrugia plays Simon in the Community. Nathan also appears regularly on "Black Sheep", a sketch comedy show on Channel 31. Nathan has never been > normal. He is sub-normal. the subcutaneous underbelly of human society we all ignore and hope doesn't exist. Occasionally, when not engrossed in his favourite past-time of collecting fingernail clippings and filing them in little plastic bags, he edits for TV, writes novels, detests extreme stupidity (including his own), carries a Fisher-Price step-ladder in his backpack at all times and is frequently over-caffeinated. He likes cheesecake and spinach, but not in that order; or together, although sometimes together can be good. His dog " Rat" has 12 friends on Myspace. Add him.

toby wilkins photo Toby Wilkins has been acting since he was eight. The son of a doctor and teacher he found acting a necissity because nothing short of an award winning performance would convince them that he actually WAS too sick to go to school that day. He performed in and out of school until begining a BA Acting at CSU in 2003. Having graduated in 2005 he moved to Melbourne and began working at Hunchbax theatre restaurant. He has toured Victoria in a mouse suit for Alpha Production's Cinderella and begins performing Theatre in Education in schools across Australia next year- unless he can convince them that he's too sick to go to school that day. ...Just thought you might like to know.
